| Elephants being massacred Apparently the discovery of mass graves of mammoths in Siberia has fueled a stampede to slaughter elephants in some countries in Africa. You ask why? Well, simple. The ivory has hit the market and a shadow supply is quickly showing up in the markets supposedly originating in the mammoth graves. It is a sort of "ivory laundering" operation. In the meantime, the elephants are being slaughtered in Africa where the elephant population has dropped by 50% in the last couple of years due to poaching. The Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species, in 1989, outlawed the trade in elephant ivory. Is this the extinction of elephants? |

Hey....I am starting a non discriminate Elephant Wash. All animals and Obese people welcome.... But if you're obese the extra suds and wax will cost you. I'll even have punch cards. "Come through 5 times, the 6th one free." Just like an espresso stand. Hey... maybe I can serve Panama coffee with a wash and wax. This is getting better all the time. I'm really not trying to seem insensitive to the plight of the Elephant, but this IS a Panama forum. |
