| Local fishes Can someone give me a list of the more commonly found fishes in the region that can be baked or grilled over the coals? I am completely new to the region and am searching researching the food fish available in the area. |
Comment #103/01/07 18:55Somewhere over the rainbow | HA! I actually googled this for you ... Mostly out of curiousity for myself. but there are TONS of freshwater fish in Panama ... as far as cooking them on coal goes? I'm not sure ... You might have to ask a local. In any case. Hopefully this link will help you find out what fish you can catch in that area! |
| Almost any fish can be grilled over coals. The best way to do that is to wrap them in foil wrap with all the spices you want on them. They come out juicy and tender and are delicious when done on an outdoor grill whether it be a Bar-B-Que or a bin with coals sitting inside and a pan over them. You can make a "make-shift" Hibatchi (sp) very easily just about anywhere and if you add some smoking wood to it you can even get that smoked fish taste on the grill. Have fun and don't forget to invite us over for dinner. |
| "Grilled Fish?"
Is it common to eat fish there? I wondered if its anything like Costa Rica where they eat rice and beans ALL day! Also, is grilling over coals a popular way of cooking? In Argentina they cook everything over wood embers on a "parilla" |
