| Panama bargains grab headlines It looks like despite the economy people still want to hear about and read about real estate in Panama...or maybe its BECAUSE of the economy people want to escape there.This article in the New York Times highlights this beautiful lake house in Las Cumbres near Panama City...its not exactly cheap at US$1.1 million but it sure makes you dream about living there too! |

Right now, I think the influx into Panama, is moving towards "because of the economy". At least based on the people I have met.Why would you want to try and retire to the US, where a "fixed" income leaves you homeless, where you could be in a beautiful country where you can live like a king on that same fixed income. Panama has many things going for it including great (and inexpensive) healthcare, affordable domestic help, etc. I think of it this way. The US is a developed country that is declining. Wheareas Panama is a developing country that is developing. Where would you rather be in the cycle, sliding down, or moving up? |
