It is republic. They elect a president every 6 years. I think Joseph Estrada is the current president. I would like to know more about Joseph Estrada.

Ahhha I see, thanks for the information :) I googled up Joseph Estrada for you, and found a wikipedia page. Looks like he is not the current president, his role as president ended in 2001 it seems. Here's the link!

The government of the Philippines is organized as a presidential-unitary republic, where the President functions as head of state, the head of government, and the commander-in-chief of the armed forces. The president is elected by popular vote to a 6-year term, during which he or SHE appoints and presides over the cabinet of secretaries."Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, the current President." Check out the Wikipedia listing (link below) for a photo of this fine looking woman! Now.. the Philippines sure beats the U.S.A. where they can't even elect an ugly women President muchless a beauty queen!

The current President of the Philippines is Gloria-Macapagal Arroyo, her 6 year term as the President of the Republic of the Philippines will end at 2010, not unless she cooked up some scheme to make her power last long but with all the opposing senators she will not be able to pull a charter change from republican to federal.
