Politics in Panama

Hi, all! I don“t know too much about Panama, other than the fact that the Panama Cis there. But would like to know more.

Modern Panama is an outgrowth of the U.S. invasion of December 20, 1989 aimed at overthrowing General Noriega.

This is an obscure page in modern history of the country.

Why did the U.S. invade Panama?

Why was such overwhelming military power used against a small, weak, country like Panamį.

I just saw a documentary on the whole affair on TV a few days ago and it seems that it was just a massacre.

Was Noriega that bad? In fact he has never left prison since then.

What are the facts?

Many of us would love to go to Panama and spend a good time as we visit famous beautiful spots. However, for some expats, they are concerned about knowing the political system in the country. i think it is very important to know the history first so that at least you will have an idea why they run such kind of administration there.
