Dolphins Apparently there is a heated argument about the capturing of wild dolphins and putting them in parks.A company called Ocean Embassy is getting flack from the public because they want to capture dozens of dolphins for their park and put them on display. There is a lot of information as to the reasons why people are against this in the article and it is well worth reading.
I think I am in agreement that these beautiful creatures should not be captured and shut up in a tank for public viewing. As it says in the article it is not an ecological problem per se, but it’s above all an ethical problem. I just don't think it is right to take these creatures from their natural habitat and put them on display so people can earn money off them. If I was there I certainly would be writing letters to the editor and to the company and tell them exactly how I feel.
I agree! They should be kept in their natural environment and not caught simply to be put on display. It looks like 81.9 percent of Panamanians opposed this as well.
Yes it does look like there were a lot of people opposing this idea and I hope that they win the argument. I think that many aquariums try to take care of them but it just doesn't seem right that they make money off these beautiful creatures.Isn't it also true of the whales where their top fin bends over when they are in captivity. To me this is a sign that they are unhappy and drooping.
This is horrible. I cannot believe that some people think that it's okay to capture a dolphin and put them in captivity. Pretty soon these poor things are going to end up extinct.
I have to agree on that, soon we will just realize that this poor creatures are slowly getting extinct and on those times we will find it hard to get things right for those poor lovely creatures. Why would some people do such thing just to earn and make a living? I think it is not right to actually capture those dolphins and cage them for public viewing. Hope this practice be ended not just in Panama but all over the world.
