| Where to live with family My wife and I are in our late 30's with 3 kids aged 4, 6 and 8 years old. We are thinking of moving to Panama and were looking for some advice on where to live.We are looking for either a big piece of land (25-200 acres)or a pretty quiet spot on the water. it is also important to have high speed internet for my work and someplace where we could get good education for our children. Of course a safe enviroment with little crime is also very important. Is there anyplace that would fit what we are looking for, or is Panama not the place where we should be looking. Thanks for any info that you can provide. |

HelloI don't know if you have had a chance to go through and read all the posts in this forum, but I have written several notes regarding this question. I won't go into much detail here, but please search this forum and read through the notes and you will find lots of info. I will just touch briefly on what we are doing. We have been to Panama many times and suggest that if you have not been there. GO before making any decisions. Be sure to get away from the big city as it is way to hectic and way too much traffic for the average person. (Of course, you may like that, , , we don't) After spending many weeks we decided that Boquete Panama met our needs. Great people, Great food, Great weather and lots of Expats. You fly into Panama City then take a cab to the local airport and fly to David. Cab ride is $25.00. Around Panama City (PC) the average cab ride is $3. to $5. Google Boquete Panama and you'll get lots of info. I can go into more detail if you want to ask some pertinent questions. We will be retiring the end of 2010 and move down there the first of the year. As soon as our house gets done in Boquete. Check out Montanas De Caldera. This is where we are building. email Jane Davis and tell her Mike and Darlene said you would mail me info on Montanas and Boquete area. They are very nice people and very accommodating.
