Living in Panama Life, Panama
Stephanie from Arizona -
I was surprised to find that since May of 2006 there have been over 10 significant earthquakes in Panama. To me personally that seems like a lot, but I live in a state where earthquakes are quite seldom. Trackbacks

Panama has quite a history with earthquakes. I've read accounts dating back to 1621. At least two were killed and 74 injured in an earthquake in 2003. Otherwise, Panama doesn't get the level of destructive earthquakes that other Latin American countries get. Most of Panama's quakes are in the ocean far from land.
