| We just got back from Panama. We are retiring there next year. We are 59 and we are not waiting until we are too old to enjoy our golden years. We have done much research (1 year) before we decided to buy in Boquete which is 25 minutes from David. We bought a lot and are building a home. When we went out to dinner, we always ran across Expats. The people in Boquete were very nice and some of the business's were run by Expats. Temp runs around 75 year round. And if you love to explore, there is lots to do, all within a couple of hours. Hope this helps, maybe we will see ya there. |
| Well, that is good for you Dar. We should all follow his league when it comes to looking for a retirement paradise and that is to research. We don't just jump to conclusions and become people lost in translations? We plan, and critically and carefully analyze a country's culture, people, government, and environment which will benefit us. Me and my family has researched a similar destination, Montevideo and maybe we can visit David as well. |

| "Expat living in David"
Hi! I am planning to retire soon and am looking for an appropriate spot, almost worldwide, in fact. I have heard many good things about Panama and was fortunate enough to find this forum. Now that I am here I would like more info on the place. I am planning to settle there with my wife and German Shepard dog. Items? Approximate cost to purchase a plot of land in some suburban place near a beach. Not on the beach, but near. Approximate cost of building a three bedroom house, one story, with a small yard or garden. Would anybody especially recommend David? |
| "Living in David"
David is a great place to live in a Panama city without the bigness of Panama City itself. Close to beach and mountains yet vibrant enough to satisfy your urban nature. With the airport expansion and soon International flights a great place to contemplate investing or starting a business. |
| "David bound from Canada/Export business advice"
I am considering a move to David in the coming months and would like to establish a few contacts. I expect to rent for a period of time to ensure that I want to be here long term. I am also interested in getting involved in the export business so any thoughts or suggestions would be welcome. |
