'Panama Foreign Investment Increases' Business

I read that foreign investments in Panama reached 2.56 billion dollars last year, which was a record in Panama. The increase was attributed to the purchase of group Banistmo by British bank HSBC, for 1.77 billion dollars. Real estate projects played a role as well.

Wow that is a staggering amount. I'm sure that the real estate and the retirees moving there has had a lot to do with it as well.

It's good to see some of these southern hemisphere countries making good for themselves.

Let's hope that for Panama's sake it keeps growing this well in the future.

oh that was nice. thats a big sum of money. i wonder how well do they do on tourism? do they get a lot from it?

I believe that they have these real estate boom because of their tourism. It would be good to hear if a real Panamanian real estate investor joins the forums and tells us about his success story which would probably be followed up by an advertisement of his business.

I had a business in PANAMA until I closed it and moved BACK to FLORIDA.

The influx of money is coming from THOUSANDS of RICH VENEZUELANS getting their money out of Venezuela away from that idiot CHAVEZ and depositing it into Panama which has "privacy" laws that rival Switzerland.

Hundreds of millions of dollars is also coming in from COLUMBIA. Very rich people are taking their money out and going to Panama City due to the organized crime and kidnappings in Columbia........

matter of fact, any Panamanian official will tell you that PANAMA has a very serious illegal immigration problem due to Columbians crossing the border illegally into Panama......

Columbians are ALL OVER PANAMA!

Why do they do this????

Because PANAMA uses the American Dollar, and regardless of what Sheik OBAMA is trying to do, the American dollar is still very popular, especially in Central and South America.

And that's also the reason for the building boom PC has had the last 10 years, but it's slowing DRAMATICALLY due to declining real estate sales figures, as well as foreclosures.

I don't care how much money Panama has, after living in Panama City for over a year, I'm back in FLORIDA and wake up with a big grin on my face every morning!
