Cuba Donates Ophthalmology Centre President of Panama, Martin Torrijos, and Cuban Foreign Minister, Felipe Perez Roque, inaugurated an ophthalmology center donated by Havana.During the ceremony Roque said the facility was named after the architect of the devolution of the Panama Canal, Omar Torrijos. He was quoted as saying This is a historic day, and we are sure that the Cuban medical team, with their professionalism, their commitment and effort, will pay tribute to the memory of Torrijos, who defended our people´s self-determination. Now that should make people feel more comfortable about technology and business in Panama.
That's a very interesting article. It is interesting that the two countries joined together to put this in motion. I enjoy reading about the different countries in the Americas and how they support each other in different ways. This ophthalmology center being a joint venture between Panama and Cuba is amazing. I hear so often that Cuba is such a poor country and that the people there are living from hand to mouth because of the poverty. But when I hear about something like this it makes me wonder just how much poverty really is there.
You need to get out of the USA to realize that Cuba is a country like any other (with good and bad points). People in Colombia always talk about going to Cuba to study medicine. You will also find many people who have visited Cuba that enjoyed their trips very much. It is only Americans that are prohibited by the US government from traveling there. You might also find that Cuba has no grudge against Americans that do visit there.
Nice article! It's always good to hear something positive going on in the world with all of the bad things that are happening everyday. Yes, pokerprincess I think other countries that have problems need to get with the program and support each other.
Yes, it is heartwarming to read a story like that amid all of the problems going on right now in this world. That story puts a lot of things in perspective.
Positivity, this is particularly what it is that actually drives us towards a serious sort of a progression that would most certainly be considered as quite significant a thing, and by very many people who would all be able to relate to what it would truly mean, most certainly so.
