Hello!! I´m putting myself out there and hoping on the off chance this wbdirectory is reminiscent of Craig´s list. I´m a Peace Corps volunteer in Panama and will be finishing my tour at the end of November. I am moving to Bocas island for a few months and looking for a job that will occupy my time and perhaps pay for the cost of living in paradise. I am fluent in English and Spanish and am well atuned to Panamanian life after two years of living and working here. If anyone has any tips or openings for the months of December and January (high tourist season right?) I would greatly appreciate it.

thank you so much y dale pa´lante

Do they have employment agencies in Panama? If so why not get your resume out to the ones that are there and hopefully they will be able to find you what you are looking for.

Or another option is to get the name of companies in the areas of your expertise and who have offices in the area you want to work and send them your resume with a short letter explaining what you are looking for.

This works in most places so I don't see why it wouldn't work there as well.

Is Panama a big city? Are there lots of jobs and apartments to rent?

Kim, you have not specified what exactly it is you are looking for. Have you tried any online searches? Doing that here could yield very little.

Try working on the ground and asking around the place you stay. Remember being told there is no vacancy is not often true. You will need to follow up and persist.

Good luck!
