retiredThis is about the 3rd time, I tried to post a blog to warn others of the pitfalls of retiring in Panama.I have a pensionado visa for Panama & wanted to retire in Bocas, I had my household goods sent to Bocas. I fel my shipment was unecessarily delayed & the total import charges were more than $3000 (ouch !!!) Thats for goods that should basically be duty free. They levied duties on the electric golf cart I brought in & I said HEY !! I thoght retirees got 1 vehicle imported free & they said WELL thats only for a gas guzzling pollution creating vehicle. SO MUCH FOR PANAMA GOING GREEN !! Then I had my Golf Cart worked on by a local mechanic in Bocas & he removed it from my property without my permission, to an undisclosed location, after all this faull der rahh, I developed a case of depression after there was a total weeek log communications outage in Bocas (WOULDNT YOU !!!!) & had to return to the U.S. When I returned the mechanic burned up the $400 control board in my Golf Cart & demanded $100 to return it. PLKEASE DONT REPEAT MY MISTAKES !!!! |
